LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE~!!!!!

I guess thats how they would start the feature match in a boxing match. LOL~!!

With Photokina 2010 just around the corner, we can see a lot of Interesting announcements from both heavyweights in the DSLR segment (Nikon and Canon).

Nikon earlier last week has just announced the new entry level  D3100 DSLR and a host of new lenses. namely the AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR, The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR, AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G, 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR and promised to to have more announcements in due time.

Just earlier today, Canon, Have also started making their own announcements. Starting with the announcements of the new Canon 60D who is the successor of the much sort after Canon 50D and also a host of lenses. One of the most interesting move from Canon is making consumer zooms part of their L lens line up. For some of the uninitiated, in the canon line-up, the L lens is usually reserved for their professional grade lenses. So by including in the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM into their lens line-up, I’d love to have the opportunity to test the lens and see if it lives up to the L lens badge.

The other interesting  announcement from Canon is their fisheye zoom lens. The EF 8-15mm f/4 L USM is the first fisheye zoom lens to offer both Circular to Standard Full frame fisheye images.  This is great news camera users with APS-C cameras who usually would have to struggle with the old Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 and many have resorted to third-party circular fisheye lenses to get the desired distortion.

On top of the announcements above, Canon also updated their much acclaimed Super-tele lenses. mainly the EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM, EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM and the EF 600mm F/4L IS II USM, all the mentioned lenses boast a lighter lens construction, Weather-repellent Flourine  Coating and also an improved Optical designs.

From the above, we can see that it will be a very interesting year before the next series of announcements in PMA 2011. Until then, i am very very excited to see how things will sum-up as Christmas shopping happening in a few more months.

Until then Cheers~!!
